Old dog, new tricks September 29, 2007

For dogs to learn any commands, it helps to consistently teach them until they can do it instantaneously. Butch was harder to teach compared with Raine. He always gives me the do-i-have-to look before he follows anything while Raine has this come-on-i’m-ready look.

When my boyfriend was trying to teach Butch to balance a bread on his nose forehead recently, a new look emerged:

It’s the new darnit-can-i-eat-it-now look. Notice the saliva bubble forming at his mouth. So cute. Miss him so much!!

Since I don’t have any of my dogs with me at the moment, this ubersmart yorkie puppy that according to its website can do dog tricks (www.idodogtricks.com) will do.

Controlling your dog’s…impulses September 11, 2007

It can be embarrassing when your dog has this incessant need to hump legs/chairs/balls or whatever. Especially if you have a 45lbs. pit bull. I find it comical because butch never acts that way towards me but to my boyfriend, it’s another story. He (my boyfriend) will probably thank me for finding this (hopefully he’ll thank me with one whole 4-cheese pizza…yum):

Came across this joke and it’s so funny that I had to post it.

On the first day of creation, God created the dog.

 

On the second day, God created man to serve the dog.

 

On the third day, God created all the animals of the Earth to serve as potential food for the dog.

On the fourth day, God created honest toil so that man could labor for the good of the dog.

 

On the fifth day, God created the tennis ball so that the dog might or might not retrieve it.

 

On the sixth day, God created veterinary science to keep the dog healthy and the man broke.
